In this episode, co-hosts Gary Trust and Trevor Anderson discuss Billboard’s new touring charts and industry trends with touring chart manager Eric Frankenberg, in which BTS’s tour is mentioned. Eric Frankenberg was at their concert at Newark’s Prudential Center and Trevor Anderson was at the Citi Field concert.
The following is what Trevor Anderson, a chart manager of Billboard said.
“Funny, because I was also with a friend of mine, who is very big in the K-Pop and BTS, on that whole world, and I think, and she was kind of like, commentating along the way.
So I, funny enough that I think, oh my gosh, I’m not even gonna try to say the name, because I know I’m going to butcher it, but I think he’s like sort of the newest member of the group, he’s the youngest guy, I believe. She thought that Jungkook, I believe that’s him, for some reason, she thought he’s the best dancer of the group for sure, and I guess that’s sort of populated around in the circles, I believe he’s the youngest and maybe has the highest range.
So those things put together made it seem like he, you know, if there has to be a standout, I know there’s a big push to, you know, keep the group together and not really make those kind of distinctions, but I think she was saying essentially that more people would vote for him to be the star performer.
So, funny enough, I guess I got that side commentary (another voice: when you have the expertise with you), I myself probably would have been able to distinguish that, but it seems like that would be the case.”
